It’s not only the USA who has presidential elections. Today (Sunday 22nd January) the people of Finland will choose who the next president of Finland. Should no candidate get 50% of the vote, then the two candidates with the most number of votes will face a head to head in February.

(taken in early Jan on the Cathedral Bridge in Turku. It seems rather quaint and old fashioned to list the presidential hopefuls in this way doesn’t it?)

Scripture tells us to pray for our leaders. Holding the nation of Finland before Him today.

We had a cold snap. Meant for sunny winter days, with fabulous sunrises and starry nights too. Fabulous. Reminds me of a worship song my former pastor used to sing (and I think she wrote it too)

It’s too early for Spring even in England – and too cold – but there are definite signs of growth.
Isn’t that a picture of us. God is at work in us long before we see or even sense the results.
