T minus 24 /with deepest sympathy

Sunday 8th

Challenge: Sympathy can be difficult to express in words. Make an image suitable for the cover of a condolence card.

This was not an easy challenge. Words come more easily for me when extending sympathy … but I gave it my best shot

grains of wheat

beyond words

What I had in mind was this verse

“Listen carefully: Unless a grain of wheat is buried in the ground, dead to the world, it is never any more than a grain of wheat. But if it is buried, it sprouts and reproduces itself many times over. In the same way, anyone who holds on to life just as it is destroys that life. But if you let it go, reckless in your love, you’ll have it forever, real and eternal.” (Jn 12:24)

As Christians we have a message of hope. We know that while we are called to live out our human existance (as best we can) to the glory of God, we also know that at the end of the day our lives belong to Him and death is not the end because we too will rise in glory!
