Saturday December 25th
Probably not the Christmas postcard picture one might expect today of all days. But as someone said it’s presence not presents that matters – and today, this Christmas, we were family together – and at the end of the day that’s ALL that matters.
As John puts it “The Word became flesh and blood, and moved into the neighbourhood” (Jn 1 :14) . The incarnational message is that He became one of us, became like us, and so this year He hung out with us in front of the tv, and joined us in the meals we shared. That’s the love that came down at Christmas!
