Grindleford Station. Nearest station to Cliff College. It is on the Hope Valley line (Sheffield to Manchester through the Peak District Park, via Hope and Edale) and probably the lovliest station I know. It’s unmanned and there is not even a ticket machine. The cafe nearby opens when it feels like it and mostly serves walkers who are rambling in the peak district.

The Hope Valley line survived Beeching’s cuts of the 1960s, where as the line via Bakewell did not. Not that Bakewell/Hassop would have been any closer to the college. The latter is now part of the lovely Monsal trail and Hassop station a lovely cafe cum restaurant.
