Meet Mayu and Kazumi from Japan

I’m sitting here (freezing!) with these lovely pilgrims from Japan looking at their guidebook in Japanese!

The mountain we face (bottom left) looks even more daunting in their book.

Mayu travelled to Barcelona to start the Camino after visiting Finland! She’d been to Turku, Rauma and Pori as well as Helsinki. She’d tried (and liked) Mämmi,Sisu salmiakki and other Finnish goodies, and of course liked Turku a lot!

Kuzumi and I have stayed the last three nights in the same albergues and today she followed me into one cafe just as I was leaving. She doesn’t speak much English, but reminds me a bit of my mother in law as she’s very interested in all the fruit and vegetables growing!
